Transitioning to ICT has been a bit harder than I thought. After over a year of applying to various places, I have been unable secure my start. I haven’t had any call backs since lock down which was about 2 months. That changed this week. I had 3 interviews with and all seems promising. One was for a call centre for a telecom provide in their technical services department. The other a distribution company for a in house ICT technician that includes servicing of satellite branches from time to time. Third was for a large organization for on site tech stationed as a satellite branch.
The first position seems like a step back for me. I spent 3 years in the NCRHA as a clerk and about 2 years at my current employee doing similar work in the call centre work. The other 2 are mostly equivalent in scope but I expect the third to have more autonomy yet the second would have better benefits and opportunities for advancement.
Though all of this seem academic as I am yet to have offers for any of them.
